My Bio
I am a Management Committee member of a conservation Charity which runs a Nature Reserve in West Sussex, England. I have been collecting Feathers for over 10 years and now have approx 2000 feathers from some 498 species, of which the bulk are European. I aim to have a representative collection of at least one of each feather type from every species, both male and female. Always looking out for new species to my collection. I am particularly interested in Passerines - the little brown jobs, as they appear to be the hardest species to find feathers for - unless you are lucky and hit upon a Sparrowhawk's plucking post. I also love to take photos, particularly of birds, but most wildlife in general.

I have decided henceforth to use Burridge’s numerical codes alongside every species I list in my journal, if only to promote a new identification process alongside Scientific names. Who is Burridge?, I hear many of you ask,  so a brief explanation ought to be made here: Burridge's Multilingual Dictionary of Birds of the World. ISSN No: 2058-1475. “John T. Burridge is a semi-retired chemical engineer and technical writer, and has been a lifelong environmentalist and birder. His engineering mentality has made an obsession of his attempt to bring some semblance of order to the chaotic world of bird names. He received his undergraduat

Through the kindness of two fellow collectors, my collection has now increased to 498 species! Wow, thanks very much Guys!
Congrats =) You're lucky ahah
Just recounted my collection for species - it stood at 92 species, but with this new Polish Collection, it has expanded it to a whopping 423!! I just couldn't believe my luck.  It always pays to look in bookshops. I never thought to try before.
I have recently picked up a Polish collection and although they are nicely laid out - I cannot speak Polish!! I shall start to put some up to see if anyone can ID them (or translate!!)
